Twenty-five years is an incredible milestone, but it’s the stories behind those years that matter most. We sat down with Sunny and Troy to ask them a few questions about their journey at SBA. Their answers might surprise you.
Sunny: Building Quality That Lasts
As Fabrication Supervisor, Sunny has witnessed the transformation of SBA’s workshop over the past 25 years. The biggest change he’s seen has been the improvement of the workshop space and layout, making everything from parts storage to the assembly process more efficient, with dedicated bays for each stage of production.
Of the many projects he’s worked on, Sunny says building high-dump and side-dump buckets has always been the most rewarding because of the complexity involved in their assembly.
When asked what has kept him at SBA for a quarter of a century, his answer was simple: “I have the number one boss. If you don’t have a good boss, you don’t stay.”
Troy: Growing With the Business
Over the past 25 years, Troy has worked across welding, engineering, sales and now warranty, giving him a unique understanding of nearly every part of the business.
One of the biggest lessons he’s learnt throughout that journey is that communication is the key across the team in everything they do.
Looking back, Troy is proud to have seen SBA grow from humble beginnings into the national business it is today. But what stands out even more is watching people grow alongside the company, seeing apprentices develop into supervisors and now managers of their own departments.
A Legacy Built on Experience
Together, Sunny and Troy represent 50 years of experience, knowledge and dedication. They’ve helped shape SBA from its early days into the Australian manufacturer it is today, all while maintaining the quality workmanship, practical thinking and customer-first approach that defines our business.
To Sunny and Troy, thank you for your loyalty, your hard work and everything you’ve contributed over the past 25 years. SBA wouldn’t be the same without you.
